Pixlate's Puzzles

Hi folks! Felt like making a normal puzzle for once - today's one resides over at MyCrossword and along with the venue comes a different and, more importantly, British cryptic style and vocabulary (you have been warned). So uh, I did a puzzle with  Frisco. (omg its so silly and so dumb and i love it and Frisco thank you so much for working with me on this) This puzzle uses some - uh - contemporary fill. You'll see what I mean. Working on this puzzle was just such a joy and a pleasure, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it with a friend in the crossword world. Go do a Frisco puzzle; he usually makes American-style puzzles, and they're all great! Hi, it's me again somehow. This blocked normal-ish puzzle is a calming of pace from the absurdity and complexity of some previous puzzles (only one sentence in the preamble!).  This one's going to be a bit different, so I suggest reading this post the whole way through.  The idea for this one first spawned when watching one of  juff's streams , a fellow constructor and a very entertaining solver. In it, they were doing a co-solve of a certain puzzle - I forget which exactly - and I thought wow, this whole cryptic business is much more fun and exciting with a friend along to help. This cryptic has been inspired by the game Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and is thus designed for TWO solvers. You can still solve it with one person, though if you can get a friend to play along the experience should be better. One of you is designated the role of the DEFUSER. The defuser is allowed to look at the bomb (i.e. the grid and clues) and NOT allowed to look at the manual. The other is designated the role of the EXPERT. Wow! I think this may be the first time I've ever created a grid and actually finished the cluing not long after. This 14 x 14 bad boy hopefully should be a fun little challenge. I recommend using a notepad, you might wanna write things down. I feel as though as I write more clues, my constructions begin to have their own sort of style? idk tell me if you find anything recognisable about the way I set.
